Training on music and movement as...

"Learning, Teching, Training activity" within the Erasmus + project "Cell Biology and Art Class Omnibus-CACAO" was held at the partner organization "Musica, Impulse Center" in Pelt (Belgium) from 16th to 19th May 2022. The main focus was on using music and movement as learning tools. 

On behalf of the coordinator, Juraj Dobrila University in Pula, doc. dr. sc. Marlena Plavšić, Ph.D. Ines Kovačić, Associate Professor dr. sc. Ivana Paula Gortan-Carlin, Đeni Zuliani Blašković, senior lecturer, and Kristina Hlavati Bertoncelj, mag.oec. have participated  in the training.

The four-day training was implemented by Musica Impulse Center  and Hanna Poikonen, an external expert on the neurobiological basis of "embodied" learning. The theoretical framework of training, teaching / learning activities and good material activities is implemented in a coherent and focused way, applying theory / research and practice to workshops, reflections, interactions suitable for educator training.

The partners have designed interesting music and dance acts that will serve  educators in preschool institutions to pass on knowledge from biological fields to children. Some of the topics that will be covered are the human body, cells, microorganisms, evolution, photosynthesis. The aim of the project is to popularize STEM in preschool education.
