As part of the William project, the "Security and Safety of International Students Zoominar" was held on 3rd of, organized by project partners. The goal of this online event was to create a support system for international students as their security is an essential foundation of internationalization. The past year in pandemic conditions has further highlighted the importance of these topics.
The introductory speech was given by Dr. Yael Israel - Cohen (COLMAN). Dr. Hila Nevo spoke on the topic of the safety learning module. A panel discussion followed, during which the EU and Israeli experiences were exchanged on the topics of communication with international students and preparedness and experiences gained in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was followed by "breakout" sessions. Head of the Office for Partnership and Projects, Ivona Peternel, PhD led a session on the topic of protocols for incoming students within international exchange programs. She shared the experience of the Office in communication durin the corona-crisis with students, established procedures in the processes of isolation, virtual mobility and psychological support by experts.
Some of the conclusions were that the most important are flexibility and agility in processes, strong internal and external communication followed by meaningful and timely aggregation of information for students.
