You can find the list of accessible databases in the corresponding scientific field. To access the databases, follow the link in the database title. Direct access to the databases is available through the University’s wired and wireless network, and access outside the University is possible with an AAI account (proxy).

Academic complete: e-books

Academic Complete is a database that includes more than 150.000 e-book titles with multidisciplinary content, and is available to an unlimited number of users and allows you to download DRM-free book chapters.

The database is also available in the ProQuest One Academic.

You can also search for e-book titles within the Ebook Central database by selecting it on the ProQuest platform. To download an e-book/e-book chapter, it is necessary to create a user account in a simple procedure.

CURRENT CONTENTS CONNECT

Current Contents Connect (CCC) contains indexes, abstracts and bibliographic data from the latest issues of the world's leading journals in all scientific fields, and with more than 7,000 selected websites. The database can be accessed via the Web of Science interface.

Cambridge e-book

Cambridge e-books are available mainly as part of the Cambridge Companions and Cambridge Histories collections, and the available content also includes a number of additional textbooks within the social sciences and humanities. Titles from 2008 to 2021 are available.

DART – Europe E-theses Portal

DART – Europe is a portal that unites several collections of doctoral dissertations from European universities. Access to full texts for more than 150,000 dissertations from 17 countries is provided.

De Gruyter Journals

The De Gruyter journal collection includes more than 300 journals covering all areas of science, and content from 1995 to 2021 is available.

DOAB – Directory of open access books

DOAB is a community-driven discovery service that indexes and provides access to scholarly, peer-reviewed, open-access books and helps users find reliable open-access book publishers. All DOAB services are free of charge and all data is available free of charge.

DOAJ – Directory of Open Access Journals

DOAJ is a collection of scientific and professional electronic journals in open access. All journals that are included in the collection have been previously checked; Each journal involved must undergo a review process and quality control by the editorial board, must bring scientific content and be publicly available. The database currently includes more than 11,000 journals from 125 countries and covers all areas of science.

 

DOAR – Directory of Open Access Repositories

OpenDOAR is a directory of institutional repositories in open access (repositories of universities, institutes, etc.). The repositories contain different types of papers: articles, doctoral dissertations, reports...

EBSCOhost

EBSCOhost is a platform through which EBSCO databases are available, as well as those of other publishers. The platform includes bibliographic databases and databases with full text, and papers in the fields of natural, technical, social sciences and humanities, biotechnical sciences and biomedicine and health can be found.

Emerald eBooks

More than 3,000 e-book titles within the field of social sciences are available on the Emerald Insight platform. After the expiration of the license, all institutions that were included in the license will have a permanent right of access to the 300 most used titles.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar offers an easy way to search widely for scholarly literature. Many scientific disciplines from different sources can be searched from one place: peer-reviewed papers, books, abstracts and articles published by academic publishers, professional societies, repositories...

Hamster

Hamster is a central portal that gathers Croatian scientific and professional journals in open access in one place.

The database contains over 400 journals, more than 12,000 volumes and more than 150,000 published papers with full text covering all scientific fields.

Croatian Web Archive

HAW is a collection of content downloaded from the web. It is intended for downloading and permanent preservation of publications from the web as part of Croatian cultural heritage. Archived content can be searched by title, URL, keywords and subject areas.

JSTOR

JSTOR (Journal Storage) is a multidisciplinary scientific database of academic sources that contains various collections of digitized archival issues of journals and provides insight into the full texts of articles in more than 2,600 journals covering 75 scientific disciplines and fields. In addition to journals, more than 7,800 open access e-books are available on JSTOR  . The collections Arts & Sciences I – XV are available in the national subscription.

Open Access Theses and Dissertations (OATD)

Open Access Theses and Dissertations (OATD) is a repository of open access theses and dissertations that have been published worldwide. The records include more than 1,100 colleges, universities, and research institutions. OATD currently indexes more than 5 million papers.

Oxford Journals

Oxford Journals is a collection of academic journals with articles available in full text. It contains more than 200 journal titles covering the fields of humanities and social sciences within the Humanities and Social Sciences collection.

ProQuest Central is a platform that provides access to databases covering multidisciplinary content within all scientific fields: economics and business, biomedicine and healthcare, social sciences and humanities, arts, education, science and technology, and religion. The available content includes thousands of scientific and professional journals, newspapers, dissertations, case studies, market reports, and more.

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global (PQDT)

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global (PQDT) is a database of doctoral dissertations and master's theses in which the most advanced ideas from a wide range of represented fields are documented and examples of the latest research are recorded, especially useful for students. It contains approximately 1.7 million complete dissertations and master's theses and 3.8 million abstracts of final theses.

SAGE Journals

The SAGE Premier collection includes more than 1,100 journals covering the humanities and social sciences, biomedicine and health, engineering and natural sciences.

Journals from 1999 to 2022 are available, and the constituents of the University of Zagreb retain the permanent right of access to the content from 2021.

ScienceDirect

ScienceDirect is a collection of journals that contains a great source of information for scientists, teachers, students, information professionals, etc. It includes over 14 million publications that include over 3,800 journals, of which about 2,000 are published by Elsevier. The database covers the fields of natural, technical, medical, social sciences and humanities. There are 270 journals available as of 2012, and all articles in open access until the current year are also available.

Social Science Premium Collection

The Social Science Premium Collection database contains full texts, abstracts and indexes scientific articles, books, dissertations, conference proceedings, official and other publications, including more than 2,400 full-text journals.

The database is available through the ProQuest platform.

Springer Journals

The Springer Journals collection contains more than 2,000 titles covering all scientific fields with available content from 1997 to 2022.

The Croatian academic and scientific community reserves the right of permanent access to the content from 2021.

Taylor & Francis Subject Collections

Taylor & Francis Subject Collections in National Subscription consists of three subject collections of journals; Social Science & Humanities Library, Science & Technology Library and Medical Library, which contain a total of more than 2,200 journal titles within the social sciences and humanities, natural and technical sciences, and medicine and public health.

Journals from 1997 to 2022 are available, and the Croatian academic and scientific community retains the permanent right to access the content from 2021 of those titles that were subscribed to in previous years.

MEDLINE (OVID, Web of Knowledge) 

The Medline database provides relevant information in the field of biomedicine and healthcare, population and reproductive biology and other areas related to medicine and health care (nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, health systems...). Compiled by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, Medline indexes about 5,000 scientific and professional journals published in more than 80 countries, and has a built-in dictionary of controlled MeSH terms that makes it easy to search.
