On December 10, 2024, the University of Juraj Dobrila in Pula hosted the meeting of the EURAXESS national network, organized in collaboration with the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes (AMPEU), which served as the event organizer. We are thrilled to announce the launch of the  Community of Practice (CoP) ‘Supporting mobility and procedures, including entry conditions, social security and taxation’ , as part of the EURAXESS ERA-Talent programme! One of the objectives of this CoP is to address the issues related to entry and residence conditions. Therefore, we are mapping the immigration related hurdles, as well as best practices international researchers face in individual countries. For most countries this is also related to the  EU Directive 2016/801 .

We are proud to announce that our report within the Euraxess initiative for the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) has been officially accepted and approved! This is an exceptionally important milestone for our University, affirming our commitment to promoting research excellence and ensuring optimal working conditions for our researchers. The process of achieving this positive assessment included months of preparation, data collection, and a series of consultations and feedback from our researchers and administrative staff. Our shared dedication and hard work have led to this achievement, and we are especially proud of it.

European Commission has published the  Excellent Science external evaluation study , part of the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe. The study assesses the contribution of Horizon Europe to excellent science, focusing on the  Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions  as well as other parts of Horizon Europe Pillar 1, and feeds into the broader mid-term evaluation of Horizon Europe that is currently ongoing.

We are pleased to inform you that today we announced the  closure and submission figures of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) 2024 COFUND call . The European Research Executive Agency (REA) received  81 proposals  and will select around  30 projects  under this call.  We have published an article with the next steps for applicants, interactive charts and statistics on the MSCA website and announced the call figures on social media. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Staff Exchanges 2024 call is open as of today. It was also recently announced the launch of a new co-funding scheme by India’s Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) that will boost EU-India R&I cooperation under MSCA Staff Exchanges.

We are pleased to inform you that today the European Commission announced the  closure and submission figures of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 call . The European Research Executive Agency (REA) received  10,360 proposals  (+29% compared to the last call), the  second highest number of proposals ever received under MSCA  (after the 2020 call) and the call with the biggest number of proposals ever received of all Horizon Europe calls launched so far. The European Commission will select around  1,700 projects  under this call. The results will be announced in mid-February.
