Juraj Dobrila University of Pula was founded in 2006 and since then it has been one of the main drivers of scientific, research and social activities in the Istrian County, but also in the wider community.

Scientific and teaching excellence, artistic creation and research are defined as one of the four key strategic areas of activity according to the University's Development Strategy for the period 2021-2026. Scientifically competitive human resources are the result of the adaptation of the program to the market and the ranking and quality metrics of all institutional processes (University Development Strategy 2021 – 2026, 17–20).
