Predstavljanje projekta NeuroLEEF rimskim školama

On 28 May 2026, Dr Renata Martinčić Marić delivered an online presentation of the international scientific research project "Neurocognitive Abilities and Early Bilingual Development: Language Exposure and Executive Functions/Neurokognitivne sposobnosti i rani dvojezični razvoj: jezična izloženost i izvršne funkcije" (NeuroLEEF), led by Dr Nada Poropat Jeletić. The presentation was organized as a continuation of the successful international collaboration established with the Roman school institutions involved in the implementation of the research activities. The meeting was attended by teachers from the Istituto Comprensivo Bruno Munari in Rome, specifically from the Cardinal Massaia/Walt Disney and Pietro Verri school branches, with which collaboration had previously been established during the field research conducted in Rome in April 2026. A particularly important contribution to the establishment and implementation of this collaboration was made by Maria Chiara Di Muro and Mariaimmacolata Colarusso, who participated in the organisation of the research activities and in the recruitment of participants. During the presentation, Dr Renata Martinčić Marić outlined the main scientific objectives, theoretical foundations and methodological framework of the NeuroLEEF project. Special attention was devoted to the study of the relationship between early language development, language exposure, bilingualism, working memory and executive functions in children. The presentation also included an overview of the standardized linguistic, cognitive and neuropsychological instruments used within the project. The particular value of this online meeting lies in the fact that it represents a form of international scientific and educational communication that enables the sustained maintenance of professional links with partner institutions. The presentation of the project was therefore not merely informative in nature, but also contributed to the further strengthening of collaborative relations, the exchange of professional experience and the inclusion of school staff within the broader scientific and methodological framework of the project. The collaboration with the Roman schools further confirms the international, interdisciplinary and applied dimension of the NeuroLEEF project, contributing to the development of a stable network of educational and scientific partners within the European research area.
